Mr. Sadiq Agwan, born on 14th April 1964 in a farmer family of Sousar tahsil of Chhindwara district. After completing Masters in social Work. (MSW) from Nagpur, got interested in rural development from his student days and came to Chhindwara district in 1988 and decided to work in Amarwara tehsil, one of the most backward part of the district and registered a society by the name " Institute for Development of Youth, Women and Child " (IDYWC). In 1995 honored as a winner of the "Swarn purskar", organized by the National Institute of Sport and Culture, New Delhi
Institute for Development of Youth, Women and Child is founded by Mr. Sadiq Agwan in the year 1988. The organization is registered under the Societies Registration Act, Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, CSR, 12A and 80G of Income tax act. The working area covers Chhindwara and Seoni districts of MP state by implementing substantial measures for sustainable development of the rural and tribal community through a process of participation. Simultaneously, focus is on comprehensive development in all spheres of life, Social (education, health), Economic (resource utilization, up-gradation of productivity, savings and capital formation), Political (awareness, solidarity, representation) for the community to have equal and unrestricted access to opportunities for development.
The working area was selected on the basis of its remoteness and backwardness in terms of both socially and economically. The head quarter ofIDYWC is situated at Amarwara tehsil of Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh state, which is 165 kms from Nagpur (Maharashtra).
The target group is consisting by 90% STs, 5% SCs and 5% general. The focused area of work of the organization is to mobilize local community around socio-economic issues affecting their livelihood and improve their living conditions, Strengthening their skills, capacities and knowledge base to enhance their employment opportunities. Women are active and equal participants at all levels i.e. village and cluster levels. Watershed Management, Sustainable Agriculture development by promoting organic farming and SMART practices, Safe Migration, Skill Building, Facilitating SHGs along with Micro Credits for Income generating activities are the core areas under livelihood development Environment, Awareness building and legal aid, Addressing malnutrition among children, Preventive Health measures Elementary education helps to improve quality of life of local community.
